NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Borough Council of Conshohocken Borough, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, will conduct a public hearing on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at Borough Hall, located at 400 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, PA 19428. The purpose of the public hearing is to receive comment and public testimony regarding the following proposed Ordinance:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF CONSHOHOCKEN, COUNTY OF MONTGOMERY, COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA, REAPPORTIONING THE VOTING DISTRICTS INTO DISTRICTS WITH COMPACT AND CONTIGUOUS TERRITORY AS NEARLY EQUAL IN POPULATION AS PRACTICABLE AS FINALLY AND OFFICIALLY REPORTED IN THE 2020 FEDERAL DECENNIAL CENSUS.
Municipal Reapportionment Ordinance
In summary, the proposed Ordinance repeals and replaces the Borough’s existing voting district map and replaces it with a new map that divides its electorate into seven (7) voting districts, which shall be as compact, contiguous, and even in number of population as practicable. The proposed new map adjusts the boundaries and rebalances the districts such that the population of the largest voting district is only 9.67% larger than the smallest voting district. As a result, some residents will change voting districts in 2027.
Residents may view the proposed new map at the Borough Hall, on the Borough Website (see Map 2 at https://www.conshohockenpa.gov/resources/news/article/?id=8671), or on Dave’s Redistricting App (https://www.davesredistricting.org/maps#viewmap::d344074a-ae5b-4dae-bd1c-cde55222be72).
The proposed Ordinance describes the seven (7) district boundaries, and contains a revisions reservation, a partial repealer, a severability clause, and a provision about the proposed ordinance’s effective date.
During the public meeting after the hearing, Borough Council may consider enactment of the proposed ordinance. A copy of the proposed ordinance and proposed map may be reviewed at Borough Hall, located at 400 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, PA 19428, during normal business hours; a copy may be obtained for a charge not greater than the cost thereof. In addition, a copy has also been provided to the newspaper in which this notice is advertised and to the Montgomery County Law Library.
