Last night, an Aqua water main burst in the area of W. 10th Avenue and Colwell Lane, causing a sinkhole that affected a PECO natural gas main.
As a result, approximately 90 properties continue to have water and gas service interrupted in the areas of the 300 and 400 blocks of W. 10th Avenue and a section along Colwell Lane. Aqua and PECO teams are on site, and remediation efforts have begun.
Borough emergency management representatives are also on site. Remediation efforts and service interruptions may extend into Friday, February 13, 2026.
Affected residents are welcome to utilize the Community Center at the Fellowship House located at 515 Harry Street as a warming center to stay warm, charge devices, and utilize Borough resources to make overnight accommodation plans as needed. The Community Center will remain open until 9pm this evening. Any extension of operating hours will be communicated as applicable.
Affected roadways will remain closed indefinitely for remediation efforts. We recommend avoiding the area until further notice. Additional updates will be provided as more information becomes available. PECO and Aqua representatives will be in contact with affected residents. You can also call the Borough administrative office, should you need assistance, at 610-828-1092.
