Zoning Services
Zoning regulates development and helps implement the goals of the Borough’s Comprehensive Plan. Particularly, zoning refers to the divisions of the borough into various districts, which can be found on the Borough of Conshohocken's zoning map. The Borough has nine (9) zoning districts, which include:
- Borough Commercial
- Borough Residential 1
- Borough Residential 2
- Light Industrial
- Residential Office
- Specially Planned District 1
- Specially Planned District 2
- Specially Planned District 3
- Specially Planned District 4
The rules for each zoning district are outlined in the Zoning Ordinance. This determines the specific land uses that are permitted, for instance, whether a district is deemed residential, office, commercial, or industrial. Furthermore, it outlines the minimum lot sizes and dimensional standards, such as the minimum building setbacks and maximum building heights.
The Zoning Ordinance also includes regulations governing off-street parking, landscaping, signs, fences and accessory structures. Please note the installation of fencing and residential utility sheds do require zoning permits.
The Borough of Conshohocken Zoning Hearing Board reviews and determines when exceptions to the zoning ordinance are appropriate and can be permitted. The Zoning Hearing Board meets the third Monday of each month or as needed (based on submitted applications).
